Mongolia has relaxed its visa process, making it more convenient than ever to explore this incredible destination. For many travelers, a tourist visa is valid for 30 days. Additionally, citizens from 61 countries can visit Mongolia without a visa for stays ranging from 14 to 90 days, depending on their nationality. This includes visitors from the UK, Europe, Australia, New Zealand (until the end of 2025), and other countries such as Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Israel, Japan, the USA, and many more.

Visa-free access allows for hassle-free travel, but it’s important to note that each country may have specific rules regarding the length of stay. To ensure a smooth journey, it’s advised to check the regulations before your trip.

For passport holders from countries not included in the visa-exempt list, a visa must be obtained in advance, usually through a Mongolian embassy or consulate. In some exceptional cases, a visa on arrival may be possible. A typical Mongolian tourist visa is valid for up to 30 days within a six-month period from the date of issue.

Tourist Visa Application Requirements:

• Completed application form
• Original passport (valid for at least six months beyond your intended travel date to Mongolia)
• Recent passport-sized photo (3.5×4.5 cm) – size is mandatory
• Copy of your accommodation booking or hotel reservation in Mongolia
• Copy of your flight or train tickets
• Proof of sufficient funds (e.g., recent bank statements, if applicable)
• The visa application fee, payable at the time of submission, is non-refundable.
