Ulaanbaatar

Upon arrive in Ulaanbaatar (UB), the company guide meets you at the airport/train station and transfers to a hotel in the downtown of UB city. Welcoming dinner at the restaurant in downtown. Overnight at hotel. (D)
Day 2

Ulaanbaatar/Umnudelger

Breakfast at the Hotel. Morning visit to Gandan monastery, Zaisan Hill Memorial with beautiful panoramic view of the city by continuing to drive to Umnudleger of Hentii province (240 km-s) via Baganuur and Tsenkhermandal, visit to historical sites related to Chingis Khaan’s Great Empire. Day 3

Umnudelger/Binder

On that day, visit Bereeven monastery and Uglugch Wall. Baldan Bereeven Monastery is a Buddhist monastery located in the valley of Umnudelger. Established in 1654, the monastery grew to be one of the largest and most important in Mongolia at its height in the mid-19th century, housing up to 8000 monks. The monastery and temple complex were destroyed during Mongolia’s communist purges in 1937. The monastery itself is backed by the steep cliff of Munkh Ulziit Mountains where many cliff carvings, stone carvings with different images of Buddhist gods, inscriptions of religious mantras, and a large symbol can be found. In 2012, Baldan Bereeven Monastery and the surrounding area were placed on the tentative list to be nominated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Uglugch Wall is a historically significant stone-wall and was built by the natural stones, without using concrete or clay. The height of the wall is 2- 4m and 3m in width. The wall had two entrances in the southern sections of 3 km each. There are no signs or traces of any buildings in the inner side of the fortress. But a stone stele located inside is referred to as Chinggis Khaans’ horse tying pole. Overnight in ger camp. (B/L/D
Day 4

Binder/Dadal

Drive to Dadal village, 200 km-s. After lunch excursion to Deluun boldog. Three kilometers north of Bayan Ovoo is a group of hills known as Deluun Boldog. This is where Chinggis Khaan was born and farthest point of the tour. At Deluun Boldog, the hill is topped with a stone monument dedicated to honor the 750th anniversary of “The Secret History of the Mongols,” a 13th century chronicle of the empire, which indicates the location of the Great Khan’s birthplace. Day 5

Dadal/Undurkhaan

Drive to Undurkhaan town, 260 km-s, overnight in ger camp. The Mongolian Parliament renamed the city Chinggis City in 2013, in honor of Genghis Khan. Undurkhaan has a population of roughly 15,000 persons and serves as the capital of the Khentii province. If time permits visit local museum in Undurkhaan. Overnight in hotel or in ger camp. (B/L/D)
Day 6

Undurkhaan/Tsonjin Boldog/Terelj NP

Drive to Huduu Aral, 130 km-s, visit Chinggis Khaan’s monument and the ruins of an ancient historical site, known as Chinggis Khaan’s winter place. On the way to Terelj National park, visit “Mongolia XIII Century Theme park” and Chinggis Khaan statue complex, the world’s largest statue of a rider on a horse.
